Health and Human Rights
In 2005 the Institute of Human Rights sponsored the international conference, “Lessons Learned from Rights Based Approaches to Health.” In 2006, IHR engaged in follow up activities to the conference. Among these follow up activities the IHR collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) to develop and launch the following two databases related to health and human rights:
HHR Bibliography Database
Right to Health Database
The first database, “Health and Human Rights Bibliography Database,” serves as a bibliography of academic literature related to health and human rights for the years 1993-2006. The second database, “Right to Health Database,” is a compilation of international and regional declarations and treaties, national constitutions, and case law related to the right to health and other key health related rights.
