The Atlanta Asylum Network asks that all clients be represented by a lawyer. If the client does not have a lawyer, we can assist in identifying one.

Lawyers can request evaluations from the Atlanta Asylum Network by completing our INTAKE FORM and then mailing, faxing, or emailing us the completed form. If intake forms are mailed or faxed, we ask that a follow-up email be sent to humanrights@emory.edu.

Due to limited availability of volunteer health professionals, we strongly encourage that intakes be provided approximately six months or more prior to master hearing dates. It is the lawyer’s responsibility to provide translators for all interview and evaluation sessions. For cases in detention, the lawyer must accompany the health professional to the detention center for the evaluation.

The Atlanta Asylum Network does not require a fee for pro-bono cases. For reduced fee cases, we ask for a $50.00 contribution. For full fee cases, we ask for a $100.00 contribution. These contributions cover the administrative costs and are not remuneration for the volunteer health professionals. If cases are filed less than six weeks before the hearing, we require an additional $100 for all cases (pro-bono, reduced fee, and full fee). Payment should be made in cashiers check or money order within one week of completing the intake form. Cashier's check or money order should be made payable to "Emory University" and mailed to:
