Jennifer Gandhi received her Ph.D. from New York
University in 2004. Gandhi specializes in comparative politics and
political economy. Her current research projects examine a range
of topics regarding dictatorships, including their institutional
design, modes of leadership succession, the role of ideology, and
variations in their economic performance.

Research interests: democratization and post-transitional
justice; economic rights and right to development

and Development: offered annually, fall semester; Political
Science 490 – Dictatorship and Development: offered annually,
fall semester; Political
Science 585 – Transitions to Democracy: offered every
two years, spring semester.
